Professional Feng Shui Educator, Chinese Astrologer and Metaphysician

Advisor + Intuitive Channel of Truth and Knowledge

Hello, I am Tina. I’ve been practicing this way of life since 2005. My goal is to provide a professional and intuitive perspective to enhance your awareness and appreciation of Self and Space. My role is to bring you into a place of being in gratitude, creating conscious intentions, taking action and believing in your own power. This will propel you into a more meaningful and purposeful life.

I am here to support — sometimes with a firm stance, but always with love and empathy — and to inspire a new way in which you see the world and your place in it.

Some of my greatest professional successes have come when things weren’t looking so good. When someone was days away from foreclosure and we were able to shift things for that buyer to show up at just the right time.

Or when communication had broken down between loved ones, to a point of calling upon outside help, and revelations in the 4 Pillar charts provided a new understanding and appreciation for each other. Or when a family’s tragedy was able to be shifted so they could move on with a more compassionate view of the circumstances.

All of it is so beautiful, so inspiring, and so joyful. Yes, many of us are going through some tough times — however, interpreting these circumstances through the lens of feng shui can quickly make you feel like you can do something about it.

I’m all about keeping it real, keeping it practical… and keeping it light! So how did I get to this point and how can you do the same?

My story…
I was born in the sacred Black Hills of South Dakota; moving to Denver as a teen and then Phoenix to finish my school years; ending up in Wisconsin where I met my husband Doug; then Minneapolis/St Paul to earn my BFA in Visual Communications at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. We found our way to Salt Lake City in 1995 to be closer to the people who were meant to be in our lives.

If you look at my 4 Pillar Animals below, you can see where my nomadic spirit comes from. Doug and I have been together since 1988, we have two adult children who are creating and manifesting lives filled with friendship, love, purpose, laughter, and perpetual growth. My hobbies are creating new classes, products for my Etsy shop, and hiking with my family. Someday I hope to add Grandma to my resume!

Like many, my childhood was shy of love and support. All the way into my early adult life, there was big T and little t trauma. Healing, integration, frustration, lessons learned, and big decisions made. I had a deep desire to create a life that’s worthy of celebrating. Feng Shui has been a true gift to me . . . and my family. Had I not known the things I know now, I would have repeated some of those family patterns. I would have struggled even more as a parent, as an adult trying to find my place in the world.

Feng shui has enriched my life by revealing everything from the insanely obvious to the subtlest of energy in our surroundings. We are sensitive beings and when we can connect and create a sacred relationship with ourselves, our space and others….damn! Life gets exciting and motivating.

My approach…
I am a classically trained feng shui practitioner who incorporates Landform and BTB principles. Landform should always be the first place to begin. The location of your home or business is critical for long term success and well being. Classical Feng Shui, a 4,000-year-old more analytical approach reveals some undeniable energy. This school uses a compass for mapping the property, Flying Stars and Chinese Astrology charts to inform any recommendations. BTB, or Black Sect Tibetan Tantric Buddhism, brings the gift of color, placement, form and function, transcendental cures, prayers, intentions and space clearing.

The Chinese astrology charts are the most exciting to me. Your chart will bring attention to your 4 Chinese zodiac animals and their specific traits in how they relate to the 4 domains of who you are —

  • Body – physical health and energy;
  • Mind – tribal programming and belief systems;
  • Soul – your life path and connection to others; and
  • Spirit – your emotional health and connection to all that is.

This chart also shows your 5 element imbalances. This lets me personalize your whole feng shui experience! I can make recommendations that are specific to you, and each member of your family or business team. Everyone deserves that personal attention.

My lineage…
My sensitivities and curiosities began when I was a child. But, it was in 1995 when I was introduced to Edgar Cayce, and Shirley Maclaine (her book Out on a Limb) that propelled the realm in which my questions could surpass. The Universe spoke and I started to listen.

Since then, I have had the humble pleasure of being blessed with many inspiring and supportive teachers. Here are a few from which I have spent most of my time observing and learning: I began my esoteric studies in metaphysics, in 1997, under the gracious guidance of Trina West, BCCP, RN, FNP, GC. This is where I began to learn to walk and talk my light. From 2000-04, I had the privilege of studying under Buddhist Master Thay Ba Huynh. He taught an exclusive meditation group, challenging us to see and be the 5 Elements. He tested us and prepped us, through rigorous meditation sessions, to take on the most intense healing challenges.

In 2005, I met Mary Shurtleff, CHT, CFSP. She took me under her wing and openly shared everything I wanted to learn about feng shui. Her passion and commitment to the practice of feng shui excited me in a way I hadn’t anticipated. I just couldn’t get enough!

My School…
Sharing and passing along the education and experiences I’ve had is my way of paying it forward. Whether, I’m meeting with you weekly in my monthly membership program Self Space and Spirit, or teaching another semester at a local college for the interior design department, or guiding you on an intensive personal or certification journey, a proper education that meets standard and ethical responsibilities and professionalism is important to me. I have and continue to put in my time.

Feng shui is not just a hobby for me, it is my way of life. The things spoken about here on this page are put to practice each and every day. In other words, I practice what I teach.

As the founder of VIA Feng Shui it is my duty to provide you with base knowledge and skills to enhance the gifts you have already learned and developed. When you are successful, I am successful. When you are able to connect with and touch the world in a way that brings meaning and joy to you and those you work and interact with, then you are fulfilling your duty as a professional consultant or guide.

Training and certifying feng shui practitioners is a gift I don’t take lightly. As a Certified Feng Shui Practitioner, there’s an inherent level of responsibility and reverence to be invited into someone’s private space. Feng shui is far more than placing crystals, painting your front door, or moving your desk. It’s an ancient perspective that creates a modern methodology from which one can navigate their own life and the lives, relationships, and choices of others.

I invite you to explore the training opportunities within this website. VIA Feng Shui provides ongoing education and promotional opportunities to it’s graduates to keep the conversation current, to provide platforms for you to discover your presence and unique voice, by providing a network of compassionate souls who support and learn from one another, and to cheer you on in whatever way you choose to use the gift of feng shui in your life and work. The school’s efforts are ever-evolving and always expanding.

As a child, I practiced feng shui even before
I knew what it was.
Read about how it saved me HERE.

Doug and I have been together since Spring of 1988. On our honeymoon, we buried a time capsule in Custer State Park, South Dakota, for our children (that we would have some day). It was a blast to take them there 15 years later and actually find it and the letter we had written to them. They filled it up with new trinkets and we reburied it for their children. Shhhh… it’s our secret.
