Inspiring the Next Generation of Feng Shui Practitioners

Since 2005, Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology have been my way of life—a journey of discovery, transformation, and empowerment. As the founder of VIA School of Feng Shui, I’m honored to guide others in mastering these ancient practices to create modern, meaningful change for themselves and their clients.

My Mission

I am passionate about teaching a professional yet intuitive approach to Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology. My goal is to help you cultivate gratitude, set conscious intentions, and take inspired action. Together, I can help you build a life that aligns with your highest purpose and potential.

Whether through personal mentorship, group training, or certification programs, I create an inclusive, supportive environment where students can deepen their expertise and confidence. My teachings are practical, empowering, and rooted in integrity.

The Heart of My Work

Some of my most rewarding moments as a practitioner have come from helping others navigate challenges—whether it’s resolving a family conflict, aligning with opportunities, or bringing clarity to life’s unexpected twists. Feng Shui provides a lens to understand and transform these situations, reminding us that we are not powerless but capable of profound change.

My Approach

I integrate Classical Feng Shui, Landform principles, and BTB (Black Sect Tibetan Tantric Buddhism) methods into my practice and teachings:

  • Landform Feng Shui ensures that location and natural surroundings support long-term success.
  • Classical Feng Shui maps energy patterns using tools like Flying Stars and the Luo Pan compass.
  • BTB Feng Shui incorporates intuitive elements, including color, transcendental cures, and space clearing.

CHINESE ASTROLOGY is another cornerstone of my work, offering personalized insights into health, relationships, and life path through the lens of the Five Elements and the Four Pillars. These ancient tools allow me to craft recommendations tailored to each client or student, ensuring a holistic and unique experience.

My Journey

Born in the Black Hills of South Dakota, I’ve lived a nomadic life that’s shaped my perspective and deepened my connection to the world around me. Alongside my husband Doug and our two adult children, I’ve built a life rooted in creativity, growth, and love.

Like many, my path has included challenges and healing. Feng Shui has been a profound gift, helping me break generational cycles and create a more intentional, joyful life. It’s this same potential for transformation that I share with my students and clients.

My Educational Lineage

My journey into metaphysics and Feng Shui began with a spark of curiosity in childhood and deepened in 1995 when I discovered the works of Edgar Cayce and Shirley MacLaine. MacLaine’s book Out on a Limb opened a door to profound questions and awakened me to a greater sense of the Universe’s guidance. I listened—and my path unfolded.

Since then, I’ve been honored to learn from incredible teachers who have shaped my understanding and practice:

  • Trina West, BCCP, RN, FNP, GC (1997-2020): My esoteric studies began under Trina’s nurturing guidance, where I first learned to “walk and talk my light.” Her mentorship laid the foundation for my metaphysical and spiritual development.
  • Buddhist Master Thay Ba Huynh (2000–2004): Through an intimate meditation group, Master Thay Ba challenged me to embody and understand the Five Elements. His rigorous training pushed me to develop deep insights and prepared me for intense healing work, both for myself and others.
  • Mary Shurtleff, CHT, CFSP (2005-2023): Mary introduced me to Feng Shui and became an invaluable mentor. Her generosity, passion, and dedication to the practice ignited a fire within me to explore this ancient art. She shared her wisdom openly, and I absorbed it with enthusiasm, eager to learn all I could.

These teachers provided not just knowledge, but also the inspiration to integrate their lessons into my life and share them with others. Their influence continues to inform my work, and I carry their teachings forward with gratitude and respect.

As a child, I practiced feng shui even before
I knew what it was.

Doug and I have been together since Spring of 1988. On our honeymoon, we buried a time capsule in Custer State Park, South Dakota, for our children (that we would have some day). It was a blast to take them there 15 years later and actually find it and the letter we had written to them. They filled it up with new trinkets and we reburied it for their children. Shhhh… it’s our secret.
