The North (337°-22.5°) direction, or sector, of your home or office represents your Career and Life Path. It is your journey through life.
The North is Water energy. Water is how we get from one place to another. It enhances communication and allows for flexibility. How many times have you heard, “Just go with the flow”? Water can also be unpredictable. At times we can feel like we’re in over our head and other times feel like the well has dried up.

To start some simple feng shui right now, find the North area of your room, your home, or office, or whatever space you want to bring your attention. Maybe it’s all of them. Take a look at this space and see if this space is reflecting your intentions for a clear life path and steady future in you career. You can begin by activating the Water energy (one of the 5 Chinese elements) by simply adding the colors blue or black. Do you have a blue vase from another room you can bring into this space? What about a blue throw that can be tossed over the back of a chair to represent a waterfall moving into the center of the room? How about a small tabletop water feature that flows towards you as you work? Also, check the artwork on your walls. Be sure this artwork tells a story of an easy and joyful life. I had a client that had a painting of plantation workers in a cotton field, in this area. This kind of imagery will tell your subconscious that you must work hard to get what you want, OR work hard so someone else can get what THEY want…like your boss. Be creative and create a space that supports your life’s journey.
This year, 2015 year of the Yin Wood Sheep, the auspicious #8 Wealth Star has flown into the North. This creates potential for added wealth luck through career, by way of a pay raise, promotion, making a move, or an investment opportunity to start your journey! You can symbolically enhance this auspicious (good) energy by drawing an infinity symbol on a piece of gold paper, then place on the north wall of your space. You can add 8 gold coins or 8 citrine stones to a bowl of water and place on a table or north corner of your desk. A goldfish swims in a figure 8 in a small bowl of water creating constant yet gentle movement.
