One thing most of my clients and students don’t realize when they sign up to work with me is that in order to feng shui your space…we MUST feng shui YOU first!
Your inner feng shui adjustments are just as important to your overall well-being as the arrangement and flow of chi in your living and working environment.
Your innerSelf needs to be congruent with your outer world. Your space is a clear reflection of what’s going on internally, emotionally, physically, in your mind and how you connect with others. You can go all out with your feng shui cures, updating, decluttering, organizing, rearranging, refreshing, and there is not a doubt in mind that your inner world won’t begin to shift as well. It’s only natural. What happens when we start to declutter? Memories are triggered, habits are revealed, neglect is evident, and you will begin to see what you’ve co-created. That’s why it’s important that YOU do your work.
If we don’t do that inner work, and truly reflect on how we got “here,” then the clutter will come back, the triggers will still trigger you, poor habits will return, and you’ll start to neglect yourSelf yet again.
So how do you begin to feng shui your innermost expansive, sometimes-frightening world?
Activate your senses!
All six of them, or maybe you’re one of those who has more. We are physical beings. We created a very simple tangible way to heal and enhance our experience on this magnificent planet, so tap into them!
We are energetic, light-filled, electromagnetic, self-healers. Wow! Put that title on your business card! Tap into the vast frequencies offered through sound, sight, taste, smell, touch and that inner guidance system we all posses. You know how the 5 o’clock news shifts your frequency? Why not use a different sound and visual stimulant to inspire a more healing and integrative experience? How many times do you get a bad taste in your mouth about something? Or know that something smells fishy? Elevate your frequency, so those lower, denser frequencies don’t bug you so much. Align your inner experience along with your outer expression so you are co-creating in harmony.
Here are some ideas to get you started. Experiment, explore, and enjoy.
SOUND ~ Pick up the beat to get inspired. Recite your affirmations out loud to recall your intentions.
SIGHT ~ Natural sunlight to better your health. Color therapy to activate stagnant energy in your body.
TASTE ~ Healthy life-force foods to bring vitality. Water to release toxins.
SMELL ~ Essential oils diffused into the air. The fresh outdoors to help you reconnect.
TOUCH ~ A professional massage to ease aches and pains. A loving hug to comfort the soul.
Extra-Sensory Perception ~ All of the above bring us into the present moment. When we are there—in the stillness, ready to receive–then we connect, sense, and know we are not in this alone.
Take a class, find a mentor, set some intentions, and feng shui your space. It’s all good chi!
